Tauopathies are neurodegenerative diseases characterized by dysregulation of tau homeostasis. Accumulating evidence points to an important role of the PIAS SUMO ligases as key regulators of severalproteins involved in neurodegeneration. The aim of this work was to evaluate the role of the PIAS family in the regulation of tau homeostasis.
