Resumen:
Introduction: High fat high fructose diet induces metabolic disorders in adult life. In previous studies we demonstrated that zinc has antioxidant properties and can regulate metabolism. Objective: To evaluate the effects of postnatal zinc supplementation on systolic blood pressure (SBP), retroperitoneal adipose tissue (RPAT) and intermediate metabolism in adult male Wistar rats fed a high fat and fructose diet during growth.Methodology: Male wistar rats fed since weaning (21 days) to adult life (81 days): Cc: zinc control diet (30 ppm); Cgf: zinc control-high fat diet and fructose 10% in drinking water; Zgf: zinc supplemented (190 ppm)-high fat diet and fructose 10% in drinking water. At day 81, we determined SBP, metabolic profile, RPAT morphology and blood oxidative stress. N=5 for each group. Two-way Anova, test post-hoc: Bonferroni: ***p
