Resumen:
Molecular findings have increased their relevance as diagnostic and prognostic tools in myelodysplasticsyndromes. The access to multiple gene testing through high-throughput NGS is highly heterogeneous andlimited due to inadequate resources in Latin America (LA); however, it appears to be increasing. We aimed toassess the real-world laboratory practice patterns on NGS technology individualized among GrupoLatinoamericano de Mielodisplasia (GLAM) members.A 33-question survey (SurveyMonkey platform) was distributed and collected between March-2022/Jan-2023reviewing responsible professionals about aspect of the technology in their institutions. We realized and contacted 37 centers in 12 countries (figure) and 21/26 almost entirely responded to thesurvey. Private and National supported settings were almost equally distributed including Universities, Healthor Research institutions and Laboratories with an age-target practice covering 11/21 adults and 8-mixed. Start-up resources comprised from 12-governmental and 2-ASH supports to 11-private and 5-combinedinvestments including 4-ICAL projects. Most adopted 73%-Illumina platforms and 69%-commercial panelsincluding amplicons or capture technology developed mainly by 9-Illumina or 7-Sophia Genetics. Regardingpractical expertise, 9/21 expressed
