Quinolones are antibiotics commonly used in aquaculture, and animal and human therapies. Their residues can be found everywhere in theenvironment, and they are considered emerging pollutants. Therefore, this work aimedto study the ecotoxicological effects of quinolones on Chlorella vulgaris (green algae) and Ceriodaphniadubia (cladoceran). Ciprofloxacin (CIP)was selected as model quinolonebecause of its wide use, and it was assayed in concentrations from 0.5 to 62.5 mg L-1.
