Resumen:
In this study, we examined the psychological processes in the comprehension of spontaneous discourse. The aim in this study was to determine whether identification of causal relations amongst spontaneous discourse components is a central factor in understanding the discourse, as it has been found to be in text comprehension. We investigated the role of causal relations in college students’ free recall after they either listened to a radio transmission of spontaneous discourse or read the transcript of this radio transmission.
