Quantum mechanics is today maybe the best experimentally confirmed theory. Even though the technical development it provided from the beginning of the XX century, it lacks even today of an interpretation accepted by the majority of the scientific community. Quantum theory has been the field of battle of many philosophical positions: realism, empiricism, instrumentalism, idealism, etc. In this talk we will get into the historical development of the theory and we will analyze from this perspective the problem of interpretation, which is as well the problem of understanding quantum mechanics.
