Resilience or resistance? Approaches towards community art as a social integration factor in the informal neighbourhoods of Buenos Aires

I shared some of the reflections arising from such experiences and from the exchanges my colleagues from USAL and I made during the last few years with other researchers both from Argentina and abroad, especially focusing on those related to resilience cultures.Thus, my lecture was organized round two axes understood to be central to reflect on resilience cultures: on the one hand, I deal with the problematics round the concept of resilience proper, considering the different meanings and practices, which motivates us, precisely, to reflect on this term as related to another notion: that of resistance; and, on the other hand, the public art / community art dichotomy, which requires rethinking the public space and addressing the community relations which art can encourage.
