Resumen:
The standard method for measurement of subcutaneous tumorsin immunodeficient mice is through the use of calipers. evertheless,it introduces a lot of bias. n the last decades, the use ofultrasonography as a diagnosis method for tumors has advanced, including the possibility of getting better assessment to gaugethose neoplasms of different ays. ltrasound S poer opplerimage is idely applied for observing the perfusion of vasculat urebecause it provides noninvasive and reproducible information andhelps in assessing longitudinally the angiogenesisrelated diseaseas ell as monitoring the therapeutic response. The objectiveof this study is to report a different option to evaluate tumors inpreclinical procedures. mmunodeficient mice Foxn nu/nu alb/cathymic nude mice injected ith neoplastic cells A,on the right flan, ere evaluated every ee during months, beginning at days of the injection of neoplastic cells they ereassessed by S ith a color oppler equipment et, indray,China, coupled to a . Hz linear probe LEA, indray. mode scanning in real time as used, for different mensurationconjugated diameter and volume of the tumors. The useof S equipment equipped ith oppler allos us to add datato the morphometric usually acquired ith standard ultrasoundequipment, lie blood flo intensity of the tumor at different momentsin the protocol. These parameters allo us to get moremeasures than caliper mensuration, in less time of manipulation ofthe animals the acquisition duration of each poer oppler imageas about seconds, ith a noninvasive method, providingmore objective data. The use of tools to provide as many data aspossible ith the least handling of animals is a breathrough thatinvolves the refinement of animal procedures and contributes tothe elfare of the experimental animals.
