Resumen:
Metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) still stands as a challenge forpublic health. In this setting, repurposed drugs arise as cost-effec-tive co-adjuvants strategies to the standard chemotherapy regimensfor mCRC. Considering the wide variety of therapeutic benefits pre-viously reported for other tumor types, we aimed at exploring theantitumor activity of five rationally selected repurposing drugs; iv-ermectin (IVM), atorvastatin (ATV), benznidazole (BDZ), propran-olol and losartan in aggressive CRC CT-26 cells. In vitro sensitivityto the selected compounds was assessed on rapidly growing cellcultures finding heterogenous IC50 values ranging between 10-800μM. Combinational studies were carried out with IVM, ATV and BDZbased on their clinically-relevant IC50 values and their known impacton drug resistance reversal, immune modulation and hypoxia-acti-vated cytotoxicity. The addition of IVM to ATV, exerted a synergicinhibitory effect (combination index
