Resumen:
BackgroundAs consequence of the expansion of the agricultural frontier towards more vulnerable environments, there is a high demand for reliable indicators that describe the impact that new land uses have on soil and water conservation status. In the semi-arid center of Argentina, large areas of native vegetation have been replaced by extensive rainfed crops. In previous investigations (1, 2), within two sectors of Durazno sub-catchments (Province of San Luis, Argentina), geochemical elements have been used as fingerprints to approximate the contribution of each identified source in accumulation areas at the end of the two sectors. In this research, we have focused on analyzing the sedimentary contribution attributable to the areas destined for extensive crops.
