Resumen:
We developed Yttria–stabilized zirconia (YSZ) thin films, touse themassolid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) materials. We propose to increase surface reactivity by controlling the porosity of the materials, and oxide ion conductivity by nanostructuration, thus improving the overall SOFC performance. In this study, dense and mesoporous YSZ thin films (~100 nm) were deposited in amorphous silica substrates. Our XRR, XRD and SEM results were used to analyse the effect of the pore-structure, obtained by different thermal treatments performed to the samples. By Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy in plane measurements, we found evidence of a single mechanism, consistent with grain boundary oxide-ion conduction.
