Resumen:
We present a new initiative, jointly with the IAU Division CWorking Group on Archaeoastronomy and Astronomy in Culture and the RoyalAstronomical Society (RAS), committed to tackling problems related to sensitiveastronomical sites. The Culturally Sensitive Sites group intends to apply everything we have learned in manydecades of cultural astronomy studies, so that the astronomical communitybetter understands the conceptions, values, political tensions, and culturalinterests among other things at stake when seeking to install and maintain astronomical facilities.
