Resumen:
Synthesis by aerosol methods (e.g., spray-drying) involves the production of small drops frome a precursor solution where, in a later step, each drop acts as an individual reactor. This procedure can be matched with the sol-gel methods for preparing metal oxide and mixed oxide composites. Hydrolysis, condensation and drying occur during drop lifetime resulting in a continuous production method for a wide variety of materials. Moreover, this approach minimizes the use of chemicals precursors and waste generation. In this chapter, the focus wil be on mesoporous oxide obtained by combination of an aerosol route and sol-gel processes
