Resumen:
Since its emergence, the concept of Family Survival Strategy has allowed the study of new issues and social phenomena in different fields of social science. It allows to enquire the ways in which families of different social sectors organize to survive and reproduce. Although it has been the target of a series of critiques ? which enabled the deepening of this approach and the development of new terms related to it ?, it has been acknowledged as a groundbreaking approach due to its mediation between macro and micro social dimensions in the understanding of social reproduction processes. On the other hand, this approach focused on the active and productive role assumed by the low-income population in order to fulfill their needs. Nowadays, the problem of poverty and vulnerability is still a crucial issue, validating the significance of this type of analysis.
