Resumen:
Residential choices refer to the decision-making process by which households choose among dwelling and location options. The concept highlights the needs and preferences, the resources (both monetary and non-monetary) and the constraints (limits, pressures and obstacles) that are at stake when households choose a place to live. Although these decisions occur at the household level, in explaining residential choices researchers have shown the influence not only of micro-level but also macro-level factors such as housing market, labor market, housing policies, economic situation, institutional context, demographic circumstances, and the urban dynamics themselves.
