Resumen:
One of the main problems affecting the citrus industry worldwide is caused by fungal diseases at post-harvest stage. Synthetic fungicides are nowadays the major agents used to control diseases of fungal origin. However, because of their toxicity, the environmental problems they generate and the growing restrictions, the search for safer alternatives it has been encouraged. Among biocontrol agents, killer yeasts appear as efficient candidates especially for combating fungal post-harvest decay in lemons.
