Th e chapter starts by defi ning thefarming systems focused on in the chapter.Th en climate change predictions for LatinAmerica are reviewed and their impactsassessed. Next, recent evidence from globalmeta-analyses on the performance of OAFSis summarized. Information from OAFSfrom Latin America is included in thereviews but is too scant to warrant a specifi csection. Instead, two specifi c OAFS fromLatin America are focused on, coff eeproduction systems and natural grasslandsystems, and their current status, challengesin view of climate change predictions andadaptation options proposed in theliterature are reviewed. Th e chapter ends bydiscussing the key features and impedimentsof OAFS and how they can help to buildfarming systems in the face of global andclimate change.
