Based on original material, te authors focus on deception in Pilagá Mythology. First, they effect a phenomenism of the episodes in which deception is used as a scheme to obtain specific ends. In this context, they pay special attention to the trickster and cultural hero Wayayqaláchigi as a symbolic paradigm of deception. Secondly, they study the moral implications of the trick from the native perspective. Finally, they reflect on the possibility in Pilagá Culture of an eidetic of deception.
