Resumen:
The aim of this chapter focuses on designing statistical models to predict the accumulation of snow in the region of the Central Andes in Argentina. This section describes previous research, the data set and the definition predictors which were used in the forecasting models. A Regional Average of Snow in the region of the Central Andes (RAS) was used for this research. The series RAS is representative of the precipitacion in the mountain because it was built using measurements in stations between 32° and 38°S. Stepwise and Cross-validation Method were also employed to build and prove the efficiency of the models.
