Resumen:
This study tested the arsenite tolerance at different pH values of nine bacterial strains isolated from grapevine roots and soils. Since Micrococcus luteus was the most arsenite tolerant bacteria (40 mM NaAsO2 at pH 9), it was selected to analyze siderophore and VOCs production. It produced siderophores even in the presence of arsenite, but its production is significantly affected. Also, M. luteus increases and modifies the VOCs profile (aliphatic and ketones) in the presence of arsenite. The VOCs produced after arsenite influence were 1,3-hexadien-3-yne, 2-heptanone, 2-nonanone and 2-decanone, which was reported to have Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) activity. The selected strain is a potential candidate to be used for rhizoremediation in vineyards.
