Modified electrodes represent a modern approach to electrode system. Such deliberate alteration of electrode surface through the incorporation of a properly modified surface can be the basis for the development of analytical techniques for different sensing devices. On the most common approaches for incorporating a modifier onto the electrode surface has been coverage with a polymer film. This article shows the results of studies of our research group carried out on modified electrodes by polymeric films derived from polynuclear aromatic amines. Our purpose is to provide an introduction to the preparation of these polymers and describe the progress in the application of these modified electrodes in the field of electroanalysis.
