We reported relationships between blood pressure´ morning surge, target organ damage (TOD) at the vasculature and dysautonomia in the elder. Present study aims to shed light on carotid lesion as preclinical TOD and cardiac remodeling (TOD at the heart) in treated hypertension in aging. Ninety-three patients underwent electro- and echocardiographic evaluation, 24-hr Holter recording, arterial blood pressure (BP) monitoring and routine analyses.
