Resumen:
The development of an innovative method is presented in this chapter. The method consists on the synthesis and further modification of materials aimed to two stages of the hydrogen technology. The selected materials are intermetallics (IM´s) of the AB5-type. The method integrates two steps. The first one consists on the synthesis of the materials by mechanical alloying (MA) and mechanical milling (MM). The second one involves the adjustment of the material by changes consisting on heating/annealing under different conditions: type of atmosphere, time and temperature. Materials obtained by annealing under inert atmospheres (Ar) are characterized for application to Thermal Compression of Hydrogen (TCH) while materials obtained by heating under air are aimed for use on Gross Purification of Hydrogen (GPH).
