Resumen:
The successful implementation of reactive systems is strongly dependent on the development ofkinetic and chemorheological models. The possibility of having a quantitative model opens theway to introduce advanced simulation tools which can reduce expensive experimental trial anderror stages. The development of new applications using biobased polyurethane nanocompositesrequires the development of chemorheological models that correlate structure–propertiesrelationships with processing variables, such as temperature, conversion, and pressure. Thischapter will focus on recent trends regarding biobased polyurethane nanocomposites applied in awide variety of industries, such as insulation, adhesives, UV-cured coatings, and rocketpropellants. Key issues related to processing routes and dispersion methods are laid out to furtherpromote a successful implementation of nanocomposites. The analysis is substantiated through thedetailed discussion of study cases, which emphasizes the relevance of chemorheologicalcharacterization.
