Resumen:
Carbon dioxide oceanic storage, which is a potential method for reducing greenhouse gas emissions by injecting captured CO2 into the deep sea, resulted a topic of interest by numerous authors. Within the broader context of combating climate change, this chapter underscores the need for a comprehensive approach to the carbon conundrum. Integration of nature-based and technological solutions, coupled with rigorous emission regulations, is crucial. The chapter´s exploration of modeling and simulation techniques aims to contribute to the ongoing discourse on effective strategies for CO2 oceanic storage, emphasizing the importance of innovative solutions in shaping a sustainable future. Specifically, authors present models related to CO2 fluxes into the ocean, membrane usage, applied process simulation, transport models, and numerical simulation. The ocean is the largest sink for anthropogenic CO2, absorbing about 25% of the CO2 emitted annually. The approaches presented in this chapter give the reader technical sources to face the CO2 oceanic injection by means of modelling and simulation tools.
