Organic matter decomposition was assessed by litterbag and bait-lamina techniques in argentine soya fields sprayed at the recommended rates with commercial formulations of chlorpyrifos or glyphosate. Litterbags showed no effect of meshes and no significant weight loss differences between treatments and controls. Bait-laminas were left 50 days in the field. A laboratory bait-lamina test was also performed, exposing  Eisenia fetida andrei earthworms to the field soil samples during 3 days. In both bait-lamina tests, the feeding activity diminished in treated soils (p<0,05) being more sensitive than litterbag test for detecting a biological effect of both pesticides on agricultural soils.
