Resumen:
This chapter aims to systematize the main elements of a psycho-political approach to social inequality in Latin America. Thus, after presenting current data on the seriousness of the problem in the region, the relationships between macro-political social processes and micro-political subjective dynamics are presented. In order to do that, the chapter presents the analytical axes prioritized in Latin American Political Psychology: firstly, studies on social inequality perception; secondly, research oriented to operationalize social inequality justification and to determine the psycho-social and psycho-political variables that contribute to its explanation. In the final section, some reflections related to future research lines are presented as well as suggestions for approaching the problem aimed at those members of civil society and public policy makers interested in contributing to the reduction of social inequality in the region.
