Resumen:
Magneticresonance imaging (MRI) has proven to be a powerful tool for thecharacterization and investigation of insitu chemical reactions. This is more relevant when dealing with complexsystems, where the spatial distribution of the species, partition equilibrium, flow patterns, among other factors have a determining effect over masstransport, and therefore over the reaction rate. The advantage of MRI is that itprovides spatial information in a non- invasive way, does not require any molecularsensor or sample extraction. In this work, MRI is used to fully characterize anelectrochemical reaction under forced hydrodynamic conditions. Reaction rates, flow patterns and quantitative concentration of the chemical species involvedare spatially monitored in situ, in acomplex system that involves metallic pieces and a heterogeneous cementationreaction. Experimental data is compared with numerical simulations
