This work reports the results of one year study of an area burned, and the incidence of fire on the soil loss. The study was carried out in the Precodrillera of Mendoza (La Crucesita 69º05´W, 33º02´S-department of Lujan de Cuyo). Obserrvations were made on plant behaviour after fire, mainly on forms renewal. The soil loss was evaluated in both areas, burned an unurned. A loss of 154 t.ha-1.year-1, which represents a 9.6 mm soil layer and a material remotion, was confirmed for the burn slope. this soil is 1.11 times larger than that the plain.
