Resumen:
Weanalyze a displaced dilepton signal expected at the LHC for a tauleft sneutrino as the lightest supersymmetric particle with a mass inthe range 45?100 GeV. The sneutrinos are pair produced via avirtual W , Z or γ in the s channel and, given the large value ofthe tau Yukawa coupling, their decays into two dileptons or adilepton plus missing transverse energy from neutrinos can besignificant. The discussion is carried out in the framework of theμνSSM, where the presence of R-parity violating couplings involvingright-handed neutrinos solves the μ problem and can reproduce theneutrino data. To probe the tau left sneutrinos we compare thepredictions of this scenario with the ATLAS search for long-livedparticles using displaced lepton pairs in pp collisions at √s = 8TeV, allowing us to constrain the parameter space of the model. Wealso consider an optimization of the trigger requirements used inexisting displaced-vertex searches by means of a High Level Triggerthat exploits tracker information. This optimization is genericallyuseful for a light metastable particle decaying into soft chargedleptons. The constraints on the sneutrino turn out to be morestringent. We finally discuss the prospects for the 13 TeV LHCsearches as well as further potential optimizations.p { margin-bottom: 0.1in; line-height: 120%; }a:link { }
