Resumen:
The flux ofcells at the cell colony border region is expected to be controlledby ridge-patterned substrates, and the cell colony displacementvelocity influenced by the orientation of the ridges with respect tothe colony contour. In this work patterns with regularly separatedridges are employed to fabricate tilted initially quasi-linear colonyfronts with different tilt angles s.For ridges with periods in the 3.3 ? 5.2 μm range, themorphological characteristics of the colony pattern, individual celldisplacement velocities and the flux of cells at the cell colonyborder region depend on s.The increase in the average cell colony front displacement velocityobtained by varying the slope of the tilted front by changing sin the range 0 < s< 65˚ shows a behaviour consistent with the standard KPZequation, pointing to the key role of the non-linear term in thespreading of cell colonies. Furthermore, thecoefficients associated with the KPZ equation are estimated fromexperimental data and utilized in the numerical integration of theequation for reproducing experimental results. This work cancontribute the mechanistic basis to the design of strategies toenhance or prevent cell colonization. p { margin-bottom: 0.35cm; direction: ltr; color: #00000a; text-align: center; orphans: 2; widows: 2 }p.western { font-family: "Times", serif; font-size: 20pt; so-language: en-US; font-weight: bold }p.cjk { font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 20pt; so-language: en-US; font-weight: bold }p.ctl { font-family: "Times"; font-size: 20pt; so-language: ar-SA; font-weight: bold }a:link { color: #0000ff }
