Resumen:
150 years of publication of the Origin of Species by Charles Darwin, different tributes were performed in its honor. However, it is important to ask toward scientific community about effective application of these ideas within biology disciplines. In this investigation we analyze this assumption trying to answer the question: Is contemporary biology darwinian? To this end, we consider main ideas of darwinism frequently applied to sciences of alive systems: analysis and focus on diversity, unique origin of alive systems, incorporation of chance, recognition of proximal causes. In general terms, we detect important generalized continuities between some darwinism ideas and disciplines of contemporary biology. However, this situation is not general and for all darwinian ideas. In this sense, for some areas of knowledge, darwinism was only partially considered (as variability aspect case) or by means of biased interpretation (as the reduction of evolutionary processes to the natural selection). Therefore, future incorporation of these elements are an important challenge to the end to obtain integrative biology.
