Resumen:
We investigated the electrochemical properties of Co-Fe perovskites, which can be used as cathodes for solid oxide fuel cells(SOFC). Significant efforts have been devoted to decrease the operatingtemperature of these devices, giving rise to the intermediate temperature SOFCs(IT-SOFCs), which operate at 500-700ºC. To achieve this goal, newhigh-performance materials are under investigation. In this paper, we studiedthe electrochemical properties of nanostructured mixed ionic-electronicconductors for IT-SOFC cathodes with composition of La0.6Sr0.4Co1-yFeyO3(y = 0.2, 0.5 and 0.8). We analyzed the performance of two types ofnanostructures, nanorods and nanotubes. Our results show that theelectrochemical performance is highly influenced by the nanostructure, whilethe effect of composition is less significant.
