In this work, an analysis of the behavior of Cellular Genetic Algorithm applied to the Deoxyribonucleic Acid Fragment Assembly Problem (DNA-FAP) is presented. Twelveconfigurations of the algorithm were constructed based on two mutation operators and two sizes of population. After to analyse the results obtained for the different configurations over literature´s instances it is showed clearly that the values obtained -consider the use of nonproblem ready operators- are promising with respect to coverage level and alignment of DNA fragments.
