Resumen:
Abstract: The aim of this Review article is illustrating what we have defined as the ARCIS (ARomatic Carboncarbon IpsoSubstitution) reaction where a new Ar C bond is formed at the expenses of another Ar C bond. Accordingly, the potentiality of several C based leaving groups including alkyl, carbinol, CN, COOH and carbonyl groups in arylation reactions will be illustrated for the preparation of biphenyls, vinyl, alkynyl and alkyl substituted aromatics.
