Resumen:
Soil respiration is a major flux of CO2 to theatmosphere. Despite its significance there is a limitedunderstanding of its magnitude, controlling factors andhow it varies over time and space in arid ecosystems.Weevaluated the temporal pattern of soil CO2 efflux andtheir response to rain pulses in a patagonian steppe, taking into account the spatial heterogeneity (bare soiland vegetated patches).
