Resumen:
In southern Equator, lower-voltage distribution electric linesare generally built in neighborhoods, being potential sourcesof exposure to magnetic and electric fields for humans, whichcould produce adverse effects. Residential and industrialexposure to low frequency electric and magnetic fieldsgenerated for utilities and their elements has been associatedwith possible health effects. In this context, it is importantstudy alternatives in order to mitigate these levels of magneticand electric field produced by their infrastructure. The aim of this work is to analyze the influence of screenconductors on values of magnetic and electric field, to whichutilitie´s worker are exposed. The exposure-mitigation methodis estimated thought the placement of screen conductors ondistribution feeders, which are simulated by using studentversion Quickfield software. Depending on the exposuremitigationresponse, screen conductors in vertical andhorizontal topology were modelled, considering four studycases. Two topologies with and without screen conductor, which is located at the bottom of the distribution feeder.
