In view of the benefits yielded by the TerminologyServer running in the Healthcare Information Systemof Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires, the Institutionimplemented all the necessary changes in order tooffer such services to other health-care institutions,using the Internet as communication vehicle.Megasalud is the most integrated healthcare networkof Chile and decided to change their legacy systemand develop their own Healthcare InformationSystem and started to use Remote TerminologyServices. After the implementation of theseTerminology Services we tested the performance foridentifying free text added in their electronic healthrecord. Between 78% to 89% of text entered wasrecognized. The task of creating an institutionalinterface terminology provides an excellent service tothe users, as they have the freedom to use free-textentry
