Resumen:
Abstract. This article presents a totally autonomous, embedded, wireless and portable brain-computer interface based on occipital alpha rhythms that operates in real-time and non-invasively. In order to achieve the simplicity and versatility of a wearable device, and independence from a computer, the acquisition and power stages were designed and implemented on a portable platform with embedded processing. The output signal of the system is an on-off logic state that is activated when the cerebral rhythm surpasses a threshold. An application was developed in order to validate the platform, configuring the device tooperate as a switch triggered by the alpha rhythm. The output commands the left click button of a commercial wireless mouse connected to a computer as a conventional peripheral.
