Within a plan of studies on paleodiet and the extinction of Pleistocene fauna of western Argentina (García 1999, 2003; Dacar et al., 2001), analyses of coprolites attributed to Hippidion sp. from the sites Los Morrillos (31º 43` S, 69º 42` W, 3000 m a.s.l.) and Gruta del Indio (34º 45` S, 68º 22` W, 1700 m a.s.l.) allowed getting important information about the diet of this extinct species
