Resumen:
Description of Myxidium biliaris from gall bladder of Galaxias maculatus from Argentina. Plasmodia coelozoic only found in gall bladder. Fixed spores are fusiform with rounded ends, shell with ridges, curved/sigmoid sutural line, measure 13.7 ± 0.9 mm long and 6.9 ± 0.6 mm wide. Infection is seasonal and has a negative correlation with water temperature. Prevalence is independent of hosts sex and decreases with hosts length. Prevalence in 15 Patagonian Andean lakes (from 39º 25S to 41º 30S) ranging between 4.2% and 70%.
