Resumen:
The Chenque Formation in southeastern Argentina contains a diversepalynological assemblage, from which selected taxa from three families are herein described. A new genus Baumannipollis is erected to accommodatespinose, stephanocolporate pollen grains related to the family Malvaceae. Four new species belonging to the Malvaceae and Compositae are described. These areBaumannipollis chubutensis gen. et sp. nov., B. variaperturatusgen. et sp. nov., Malvacipolloides comodoroensis sp. nov. andTubulifloridites viteauensis sp. nov. The type material for thesetaxa is from the Chenque Formation, Late Oligocene?-Mioceneof the Golfo San Jorge Basin, southeastern Argentina. Glencopollisornatus Pocknall & Mildenhall 1984 is reported for the first timefrom South America. The presence of Tubulifloridites antipodicaCookson 1947 is recorded for the Chenque Formation. Finally, the species distribution and its chronostratigraphic significanceare presented.
