One of the most recently described Aspergillus fumigatus CYP51A-mediated azoleresistance mechanism is the named TR46/Y121F/T289A. Clinical A. fumigatus strainsharboring these substitutions were reported worldwide with the exception ofSouth-America. We describe the first clinical A. fumigatus strain with thisresistance mechanism isolated from an Argentinian patient. The strain wasisolated in 2009 (one year later than the firstly described mutant in US)demonstrating that these alleles were scattered worldwide before than previously thought.
