Resumen:
The purpose of this article is to illustrate the reception of some Shakespearean plays. Part 1 focuses on the limitations imposed by the audience’s moral taste upon the translator’s choices. Different translations corresponding to insulting language, mainly "whore" are analyzed nd discussed. Part 2 examines two cases in which SL texts, Macbteh and Hamlet,  have been heavily transformed, i.e. “appropriated” by two Argentine contemporary playwrights. These are Griselda Gambaro (·La señora Macbeth· and Luis Cano ("El Hamlet de William Shakespeare").
