We used the actual data acquired with the Pierre Auger Observatory to study the capabilities of less dense arrays to reproduce the anisotropy claim done with the full array. The performance in term of angular and energy resolution of the less dense configurations that can be extracted from the actual array are studied by using the data itself. The reconstructed data from the different sub-arrays with lower density of detectors is used to try to reproduce the correlation with nearby extragalactic objects. Less dense arrays need more statistics to get the same result, although for not too large spacing it is compensated for the increase on surface at fixed number of stations.
