Resumen:
The occurrence of the marine Ascomycete Lulworthia sp, growing on both well developed and young holdfasts of the kelp Macrocystis pyrifera (L.) C. Ag., was recorded in five localities of the southwestern Atlantic and one of the southeastern Pacific. Te range of distribution of this association is therefore extended to the whole distributional area of M. pyrifera in the Magellanic region.
