Resumen:
The women associated in one way or another with the dictatorship were subject to the same categorization which cultural beliefs applied to women in general (being the weaker sex, being inherently suited to being carers and mothers, being suited to subordination to male tutelage and relegation to the domestic environment, being incompetent in the public sphere, etc.); they were also spoken by the regime when it subverted these same attributes with the aim of strengthening the mechanisms of repression (involvement in torture, the stealing of the belongings of the detainees/disappeared, identity theft etc). However, these women wrote an uncomfortable page in history by embodying through a rationality and certain motivations, both the exercise of mutual repressive action together with men and specific power relations. In other words, these women understood how power could be used.
