Resumen:
We have compiled the available records in the literature for taxa spending part of their life cycle in the gelatinous marine zooplankton of South America, viz. cnidarians (cerianthids and medusozoans) and ctenophores. New records of species? are also included. Each entry (i.e., identified species or still not determined species referred as ?sp.? in the literature) includes a synonymic list for South America, taxonomical remarks and notes on its habit, besides of information on its geographical occurrence. We have listed 774 unique species (in 859 entries): 15 cerianthids, 3 staurozoans, 25 scyphozoans, 5 cubozoans, 726 hydrozoans, and 18 ctenophores.
