Resumen:
The adulteration and traceability of olive oils are still serious problem in the olive oil industry. In this work, we developed a system based on Laser Induced Breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) and neural networks (NNs), for applications to identification; quality control; traceability and adulteration detection of extra virgin olive oils. Results demonstrated 100% reliable identification of both, known and unknown samples with similar matrix compositions. The equipment and the method used in this work can be developed for automatic real time, fast, reliable and robust measurements and can be packaged in portable systems for non-specialist users.
