Resumen:
This paper presents a technique to investigate coating adhesion which combines digital speckle pattern interferometry and an indentation test. The proposed approach is based on the measurement of the local displacement field produced by a microindentation introduced on the coated surface of a specimen. The microindentation generates a buckling of the coating which propagates a delamination outwards through the coating-substrate interface. Experiments carried out in specimens with different interface conditions show that digital speckle pattern interferometry can be used to estimate the radius of the delaminated region, which is directly related to the adhesion strength.
